Tucked away at the end of a private leafy lane, directly above National Trust-owned Towan Beach, Rostowan offers a wonderfully peaceful escape on Cornwall’s beautiful Roseland Peninsula. With the coast just moments from your door, it’s the perfect place to switch off, breathe in the sea air and enjoy a slower pace of life.

The villa has a large private enclosed garden, making it ideal for four-legged guests, as well as a generous south-facing deck leading directly from the living area. It’s a lovely spot for morning coffee, long summer evenings and relaxed meals outdoors. Inside, the cosy wood-burning stove is waiting for cooler evenings and tired feet after a day exploring the coast.

The picturesque fishing village of Portscatho is around a 30-minute walk away along a quiet country lane. Here you’ll find welcoming pubs, cafés, a village shop and post office, along with sandy beaches and its pretty fishing harbour — perfect for an afternoon crabbing or simply sitting back with a drink and watching village life go by.

A little further afield is St Mawes, which can be reached by car or, for a more memorable journey, on foot around the creek to Place, where you can catch the passenger ferry across the water. From St Mawes, further ferries provide a wonderful way to explore the Fal Estuary, including trips towards Falmouth.

With the South West Coast Path, Towan Beach and miles of beautiful Cornish countryside right on the doorstep, you may find there’s very little reason to use the car at all.
